A hulking figure, standing a head taller than the mightiest Inox warrior, Grog is hard to miss. A walking, talking mountain, with a gruff demeanor and a voice like gravel being crushed under a boot, Grog is, at first glance, your typical Inox. The first thing you notice, other than his vast size, are the intricate tattoos etched into his brawny arms, depictions of epic battles fought in the name of his beloved Ale god. Despite his monstrous size and somewhat terrifying appearance, Grog is a giant teddy bear at heart, although it's best not to point this out to him directly - he tends to mistake it as an insult to his Ale god, and you don't want to be on the receiving end of a punch from those ham-sized fists. Grog is not the sharpest icicle in North, but what he lacks in intellect, he makes up for with his immense strength and unwavering determination. He's a master survivalist, having been trained by a mildly insane ale priest from the tender age of 1. He can make a fire from two icicles and hunt a Yeti in a blizzard - yet still manages to lose his way back to the tavern every other day. Wearing a permanent scowl that could melt the Frost, Grog is perpetually a bit unstable, an unfortunate side effect of his undying devotion to the Ale god. He always carries an oversized ale jug - a holy grail of sorts - which he tops off at every opportunity. To Grog, ale isn't just a drink, it's a lifestyle. A somewhat tipsy lifestyle. His consumption of ale would put even the most seasoned tavern-goer to shame. He drinks it like water, leading to some interesting situations where he sometimes mistakes friends for foes - and punches them accordingly. His loyalty, once earned, is as unshakable as the Frost itself. Grog doesn't have allegiances - not to men, nor to other Inox, but he will die for a friend and for his god without a second thought. He's a drifter, a nomad, a bumbling beast of a man with a heart of gold... and an insatiable thirst for ale. Despite his gruff exterior, there's a certain charm to Grog. He was found abandoned on the steps of the grand northern ale temple as an infant and since then, he's been on a singular mission: to amass as much gold as possible to buy more ale. He's not an adventurer by choice, but by necessity - each monster slain, each challenge overcome, is simply another coin in his pocket for his holy pursuit. But for all his quirks, there's no one you'd rather have at your back in a fight, or by your side at the tavern. Just remember, when the ale starts flowing, you might want to duck. Not because Grog is violent - far from it - but because when he gets to singing the hymns to his Ale god, his "dancing" has been known to cause minor seismic activity. And the occasional bar fight. So here's to Grog, the lovable Inox drifter: a bit dim, emotionally unstable, endlessly loyal, and eternally tipsy. A true Frosthaven legend.
